HistoryThe legacy of W.T. Howell & Sons, Inc. began long before it became the metal service center it is today. It all started with one man’s vision to meet the welding needs of his community.
Mr. Tommie Howell, the founder, began his career as a teenager working at a local Western Auto Store in Eastman, Georgia. Over time, he became the store’s main service and maintenance technician. After years of dedication, Mr. Howell purchased the store’s welding shop, laying the foundation for what would become a family tradition in the steel industry. Mr. Howell eventually entrusted the business to three of his sons, one of whom chose to carry on the family legacy. Today, that tradition is upheld by Mr. William Howell, Jr., along with his wife, son, and daughter. As a third-generation corporation, W.T. Howell & Sons, Inc. remains committed to the core values established decades ago: providing high-quality steel products, delivering timely service, and maintaining a friendly, customer-focused approach. Over the past 20 years, the company has grown into a full-service metal center, proudly serving the southeastern United States. |
