HistoryW.T. Howell & Sons, Inc.’s legacy began long before the company commenced business as a metal service center. It all started with a one man’s vision to meet the public’s welding needs.
Mr. Tommie Howell, founder, began working for a local Western Auto Store in Eastman, Georgia in his early teens. Later, he became the main service maintenance man. After years of working there, Mr. Howell purchased the Welding Shop from the local Western Auto, thus beginning the long family tradition of having an entrepreneurship dealing with steel. Mr. Tommie Howell left the business to three of his sons, of whom one has chosen to remain in the business. Mr. William Howell, Jr. now carries on that tradition with his wife, son, and daughter. This third-generation corporation has kept the goals and visions that were put into play many years ago: to supply quality steel products in a timely manner with friendly service. Over the past 15 years the company has grown into a full line metal service center serving the southeastern area of the United States. |
